Deep, warm, and uplifting. One of my favorite Amenti releases yet ! – Marshall (Solid Tokyo)

JT Donaldson returns to Amenti music

February 10, 2010 – 9:43 am

It’s been six years since JT Donaldson released an EP for us; 2004’s highly acclaimed “Getting Around” EP. Finally the man is back with an amazing 3 track follow up. “Getting Up” is full on prime-time gear, “Talk To Them” is deep and jazzy, and “The Cry The Same” is a soulful mid tempo gem. Something for everyone on this release. Enjoy!

“The prolific and always fresh JT Donaldson does his magic once again. This EP personifies quality deep house.” DJ Heather

“Hey, I’m So Stylin! Vol 2” Sampler out now on VINYL

November 20, 2009 – 9:53 am

amenti041

Amenti follows up on the hugely popular first “Hey, I’m So Stylin!” sampler (released back in 2006) which featured Oriental Funk Stew, Bryan Jones, Shrewd, and Missing Persons.

This time around, things kick off with the legendary Notts outfit Inland Knights. This is the Knights’ third release on Amenti; their previous two releases were met with massive critical and commercial success. We find them on top form here with “Can’t Wait” – a disco-laced party stomper of epic proportions.

Next up on the EP is Nebu Soku’s wonderfully deep track “Wake Up…” This is Nebu Soku’s first world-wide release but they have been essential figures in house for years now. Indeed, Kai Ishikawa and MEGUMILK have been key players in the Tokyo music scene with their world famous SOLID TOKYO party. We are excited to have them as part of the Amenti family. We heard their track on our last visit to Japan and signed it on the spot; it is a late night gem that reminds us of some of Chuck Love’s best work.

The third track on the EP is by none other than Eddie Leader, the label boss of Hudd Traxx and member of Slum Science. Eddie’s track “I’m Absolutely Starving” is a dark and druggy underground jacker perfect for those dirty basement sessions.

We round things off with “Saturday Morning” by San Francisco’s Andrew Phelan & Origami. These cats have been making a lot of noise lately with their eclectic Prismatic Tracks label. Here they provide us with a discofied party anthem that features some irresistibly cheeky samples.

OUT NOW ON VINYL! Digital release coming in December.

Available from JUNO (Europe), Downtown 304 (US) and other fine vinyl retailers.
